Overview
This Data Retention Policy explains how long we keep categories of information connected to thexive.com, our mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). The Xive platform is owned and operated by Velaris Management Group LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company (“Xive,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy works together with our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect and why.
Where we can state a concrete period, we do. Where retention depends on your actions — you decide when to delete a post — we say that instead of inventing a schedule.
- Retention is never absolute: law, court orders, and legal holds can extend or shorten what we keep.
- When we delete data, residual copies may persist briefly in caches, content delivery network edges, and backups until routine overwrite cycles complete.
- Processors and partners — payment providers in particular — keep their own records under their own policies.
Account and profile data
While your account exists we retain what we need to authenticate you, run the product, and honour your settings: profile fields, preferences, your social graph, and the security signals tied to your identity.
- When you request account deletion, we begin a deletion workflow for the personal information tied to that account.
- Some records are retained longer where the law requires it — financial and tax records in particular — or where we must preserve evidence for an active dispute or investigation.
- Technical artefacts such as database replicas and backups lag primary systems until the next scheduled purge.
Hiding your profile or disabling a feature is not deletion; retention follows the active-account rules until the account is fully deleted.
Content you publish
- Posts, Shorts, comments, and other published content remain until you remove them or we remove them for policy or legal reasons.
- Direct and group messages are retained while the conversation exists. Deleting a message or a thread removes it from the product surfaces, subject to the legal and safety exceptions below.
- Live chat sent during a broadcast is retained with the record of that broadcast.
- Material under active moderation review, trust-and-safety investigation, or litigation hold may be preserved beyond ordinary deletion schedules until the matter closes.
Live broadcasts and recordings
Live broadcasts are recorded automatically. Recordings are held by our video provider for 21 days and are then deleted automatically.
- A recording you publish as a replay remains available until you or we remove it.
- A recording that is never published, and is not preserved for a safety or legal reason, is gone once the 21-day window elapses. We cannot recover it after that.
- Broadcast metadata — start and end times, viewer and engagement counts — is retained with your channel history after the video itself is deleted.
Data exports
When you request an export of your data we generate an archive and give you a download link. The link expires 7 days after it is issued, and the archive is removed on that schedule. Request a fresh export if the link expires before you download it.
Payments, earnings, and tax records
- Purchase records, creator earnings ledger entries, payouts, chargebacks, and tax documentation are kept for the periods required by tax, accounting, and financial regulation — typically several years — and survive account deletion.
- Payment processors and banking partners retain their own records under their own schedules.
- Fraud signals tied to accounts, devices, or addresses are kept long enough to prevent repeat abuse across the platform.
Logs, security, and moderation records
- Server, application, and access logs roll off on a rolling schedule that balances investigative value against storage and privacy risk.
- Sign-in and session telemetry is retained so that you can review your own sessions and so we can investigate account takeover.
- Security-relevant events such as suspected account takeover, scanning, or coordinated attacks, and the address blocks applied in response, may be kept longer while we investigate and remediate.
- Reports, moderation flags — including automated media flags awaiting human review — and enforcement decisions are retained as our Enforcement Policy requires so that appeals and repeat-offender rules can work.
- Aggregated or de-identified metrics used for capacity planning and product quality may be kept without a fixed end date once they no longer identify individuals.
Legal holds
We may pause routine deletion where we are required to preserve information or where preservation is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Lawful requests from public authorities are handled consistently with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. When a hold ends, scheduled deletion resumes unless another obligation requires retention.
